Our Staff

Our teachers are qualified Early Childhood Educators, all registered with the College of Early Childhood Educators. We have a few teachers considered Para Professionals due to working at our center for many years. Many members of our staff have been with ABC Day Nursery for 10 years or more.

 

Our teachers provide care that is warm and loving. Our aim is to support the children's personal and social growth, enhance his/ her overall development and provide good physical care. We provide an innovative, nurturing and stimulating environment where children develop independence, confidence and a positive sense of self and the world around them. Our teachers act as guides and facilitators, accompanying the children in the learning process. They bring together the perspectives of many fields, be it social, emotional, intellectual or lingual.

 

Our staff have been trained in Infant and Child First Aid and C.P.R. The staff are required to have a yearly medical and updated immunization. Every member of our staff has passed a criminal reference check.

 

Our staff attend continuing education workshops regularly.

 

We have one teacher considered Para Professional due to working at our center for many years.

 

Supply Teachers

Each location has its own supply list. This helps to ensure that a supply teacher is familiar with the children and program schedules at that location.

 

Student Teachers

We have the opportunity throughout the year to have E.C.E. students from St. Clair College. This provides them with valuable learning opportunities and experience.

 

Co-op Students

We also are fortunate to have Co-op students from area high schools with us as volunteers. These students gain incredible insight into the Early Childhood Education field, thus allowing them to make an important decision in their future education. The classroom teachers and the Supervisor oversee all student teachers.
